CAB FORWARD ON DONNER PASS
TRUCKEE, CA CIRCA 1950 ON OUR DONNER PASS ROUTE

May 11th 2012 - 3D Train Stuff Llc. is happy to announce that we are having a sale right now on our Donner Pass Route - High Sierra Crossing! The price was $39.35 and has now been reduced to $29.95! This sale will last through Father's Day!

In other news, our new train simulator program called Run 8 has generated allot of interest among our customers and some of the other developers in the community and we want to thank everyone for their emails expressing their support and excitment for the project which means allot to us so thank you!

Also, we have just wrapped up our Run 8 beta test program which started last September and was very successful with many railroaders and some high profile members of the community participating. And we are happy to report that we are still on track for a Summer release!

Now, we have had allot of people ask us since our announcement at the first of the year, "What is Run8? Is it like MSTS, Trainz or RailWorks" and the honest answer to that is that it's something completely different. Let's first start with the physics, all of the beta testers agreed that the physics are the best they have ever seen in a train simulator program. This was our primary goal when we started the project back in 2009 and we think it's fundamentally important to have right especially if you are going to market the program as a "train simulator". Run 8 is also a "first person" sim which means that you can walk, run, transport or even fly about the world at will. Run 8 also has a very cool Multiplayer mode built into it that lets you "host" a session with up to 10 to 15 of your friends with each user having their own avatar which the other users can see in a session. Run 8 also features a complete "CTC Dispatching" system which enables a user to dispatch a session from a realistic CTC Control Panel. If a session goes long and the dispatcher needs to take a break or leave he/she can then designate dispatching duties to someone else. We know that there are some people out there that are not really into multiplayer and infact some of us in the development group were of the same mind when we first started testing multiplayer however we are all addicted to it now and you will be too if you give it a try. And finally, the first route to be featured on the new Run 8 Train Simulator platform will be the entire BNSF Mojave Subdivision running from Bakersfield, Ca to Barstow, Ca and this will also include UP operations at Bakersfield and Mojave! So there will be a good mix of operations featured, everything from yard and local ops to mountain railroading over the Tehachapis to high speed running across the desert!

Well, that's it for now however we will share more info about the project as we get closer to our Summer release. In the meantime we will be posting WIP screenshots on the Run 8 Studios website which you can visit by clicking here. Thank you for your support and keep 'em on the high iron!

JANUARY 1st 2012 - 3D Train Stuff Llc. wants to wish everyone a very Happy New Year! And what's new for us in 2012? Well, the 3DTS team has been very busy over the last year working on an extension for our West Colton route which will take the SP mainline east over Beaumont Pass into Indio (actually Thermal) and then west to Pomona. This will allow for Amtrak operations between Pomona and Palm Springs on the Sunset Route. The roue extension will be sold has a seperate add-on and will require users to have first purchased the West Colton route. Price:tba.

And we have a new "repaint policy" which we think folks will enjoy to learn more click here

There is also some bad news and good news for folks as we have had to make the painful decision to drop both the SP Coastal Route and the UK S&D Route projects for MSTS. This decision was made because we are working inhouse (and have been since 2009) on a new train simulator program called "Run 8 Train Simulator". We look forward to sharing more information about this exciting new train simulator program as we get closer to this Summer so stay tuned for that.

That's it for now, have a great new year and keep 'em on the high iron!

FEBRUARY 25TH 2011 - 3D Train Stuff Llc. is happy to announce that we have a free new activity pack available for our customers! The new pack features 6 activities that cover the operations of two very different freight trains over SP's Mojave Sub (West Colton, Cajon Pass, and Tehachapi Pass II routes). For "advanced" users.. CLICK HERE

JANUARY 6 TH 2011 - 3D Train Stuff Llc. is happy to announce that downloads are back! Yes its true and we are no longer going to offer our products on CDs so no more waiting for the postman! We have also reduced the price of all of our products by $5.00 (USD) to reflect the new policy. We may make exceptions to the new policy on a case by case basis however our goal is to get completely away from using USPS especially now that most people have access to high speed internet. We hope that our customers enjoy the new service and we want to wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

OCTOBER 12 TH 2010 - 3D Train Stuff is happy to offer some new activities for the West Colton route! For "advanced" users.. CLICK HERE

MARCH 25TH 2010 - 3D Train Stuff is happy to finally announce the release of our SP West Colton route for Microsoft Train Simulator. The project was started in 2005, and is all about the operations in and around the largest clasification yard on the west coast. Originally, our primary focus was SP's classificaton yard at West Colton however we extended that focus to also include the many industrial areas several miles east and west of West Colton. And then we decided to include the Santa Fe trackage between West Colton and San Bernardino which features Santa Fe's A and B Yards. This decision pushed back the release date on the project, however, we think it was well worth it as it added even more operational posiibilities on the route.

JANUARY 6TH 2010 - The 3D Train Stuff crew hopes everyone had a great holiday season and wants to wish everyone a happy new year in 2010. We also want to take this time to give you an update on some of the projects and things we have been working on. First, the guys in the UK are making good progress on the S&D route and we hope to have it ready for release around May or June this year. Keep in mind that the guys are doing this stuff in their spare time and have personal lives so announced released dates are just a goal which we may or may not meet as our family lives come first.

On the USA side of things, 2009 was a busy year for us, we moved our studios up to Carmichael which is a nice quiet small community outside of Sacramento in northern california in order to downsize our operations and overhead due to the sluggish economy. Our address has changed so see our Contact Us page for the new contact info.

Regarding our Microsoft Train Simulator (MSTS) projects, we are putting the final touches on SP West Colton and its very close to being released we are shooting for February but as mentioned above we do have personal family lives. And in order to get the most out of our new route we will be suggesting that people try something called "MSTSBin". If you haven't tried MSTSBin yet you might want to check it out and see how it works. Basically its an unofficial patch for MSTS and you can learn more about it by running a search with the term "MSTSBin" in it on the internet.

Work also continues on the SP Coastal Route however its still a long, long ways from release so we don't have a release date yet. Many have asked about the scope of the project, it will include all of the Coast Subdivision between San Luis Obispo and Watsonville over 150 miles and it will be set in the pre merger era.

Well thats it for now. Happy New Years and Keep 'em on the high irons!
